Malaysian Kelong Fishing Trip

It has been years since i done fishing, that was during the secnodary days. A couple of my sec school friends ask me out for a fishing trip to Pasir Gopok at the easten side of johor. The amount if people for this trip grew to about 20.

The trip to the kelong consist of a trip to the johor main to clear the customs and back to the boat again to the kelong. Passing by, a huge land reclaim project is underway on the island of tekong where every singaporean guys dread to go.. holiday camp anyone ? n_n "

The boat ride is bumpy all the way. Onces we reach the kelong, we rested and prepare our fishing gear. The living space is quite run down and the food provided during dinner is quite ok to my taste. A rather enjoyable exprience. I recommanded people who wants a escape of city life, this is a place to go. Not just the kelongs but other places of as well in malaysia...

Photos i taken during the trip :

Outside the living areas.

The Johor state flag.

Offerings to Ma-Tsu, Chinese Goddess of the Sea for good harvest.

The sky turn dark with lightings, during the afternoons.

Similar but facing the malaysian side.

Nets in the water really to rise to catch whatever fishes trap below.

Small octopus, don't underestimate them, they gave a nasty stinging bite when handled with fingers....
